Personal Care Services Designed for Independent Living.
Gulf Coast Primary Home Care, our PCA partner, provides Medicaid-waivered Personal Care Attendant (PCA) services to eligible individuals across Texas who need assistance with daily living activities in the comfort of their own home. Through Texas Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs, we support individuals who qualify for non-medical personal care as an alternative to institutional care.
Our trained personal care attendants assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meal preparation, and light household tasks. These services are designed to promote independence, dignity, and safety while allowing individuals to remain active members of their community.
When available under the applicable waiver, Gulf Coast Primary Care also supports consumer-directed service options, empowering participants to have greater choice and control over their care. Services are subject to Medicaid eligibility requirements, waiver availability, and authorization by Texas Health and Human Services.
For individuals who do not qualify for Medicaid waiver services or who prefer greater flexibility, private pay personal care services are also available. Our private pay option allows clients and families to customize care schedules and services based on their specific needs, without Medicaid eligibility or waiver limitations. Private pay services are delivered by the same trained attendants and are designed to provide reliable, compassionate support at home.
Personal Care Services Available:
Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Help with walking, transfers, and mobility
Support with eating and meal preparation
Light housekeeping related to health and safety
Medication reminders only (no administration)
Personal hygiene and basic skin care
Assistance with essential errands, as authorized
Help maintaining a safe home environment
Caregiver respite, when covered by the waiver
Consumer-Directed Services option, when available
Services are provided in accordance with Texas Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver program guidelines. All services are subject to eligibility, prior authorization, care plan approval, and availability of waiver enrollment slots. Gulf Coast Primary Care does not guarantee coverage or service approval. Services described are non-medical in nature and do not replace skilled nursing or physician care.
Eligibility for Medicaid-waivered Personal Care Attendant services is determined by Texas Health and Human Services and may include financial eligibility for Medicaid, functional need for assistance with activities of daily living, and enrollment in an approved waiver program. Services must be authorized by the state and are based on individual assessed need.
